A Power of Attorney lets you choose someone you trust to manage your finances and legal affairs if you’re unable to. We prepare enduring, limited, or specific Powers of Attorney tailored to your needs and fully compliant with BC law.
04
Representation Agreements

05
Affidavits & Statutory Declarations
Sworn statements are often needed for court, government, or immigration matters. We draft and witness affidavits and declarations that meet all formal legal requirements.

Many institutions require certified copies or witnessed signatures for verification. We review and notarize your documents accurately so they’re legally valid and accepted wherever submitted.
07
Invitation & Travel Consent Letters
When inviting someone to Canada or authorizing a child’s travel, proper documentation avoids border or visa issues. We draft and notarize these letters to ensure they meet Canadian and international requirements.

Highly Recommended
David is an absolute breath of fresh air. He’s excited for his work and absolutely top notch expert. Price was more than reasonable as he actually takes the time to complete his own files as opposed to farming it out like many do apparently. His young assistant is awesome too!! Thank you from our hearts David!! You turned a boring, stressful thing into a memorable and joyful occasion. Jamie and Jen

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Notary Public and a lawyer in British Columbia?
In BC, both Notaries and lawyers are classified as legal professionals. The main difference simply put is that Notaries focus on non-contentious legal services — meaning legal matters where all parties are generally in agreement and there is no dispute, such as real estate conveyancing, wills, powers of attorney, and notarizations etc. Lawyers, on the other hand, are authorized to provide the same services as notaries however they are also able to represent clients in court. Lawyers specialize more in handling disputes and litigation that require filing court applications and representing clients.
What documents do I need to bring to my appointment?
You’ll need one valid government-issued photo identification (such as a passport or driver’s licence) and one secondary identification (credit card with your full legal name also works). Please also bring the document(s) requiring notarization, signature, or review. You may also email the document and we may print it for you. For real estate or estate planning matters, additional supporting documents may be requested in advance to ensure everything is prepared accurately so please call to confirm.
Do I need an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?
Appointments are recommended to ensure adequate time for review and preparation, but we do our best to accommodate same-day or walk-in notarizations whenever possible. You can book by phone or email for faster service. The best option is to always do a quick phone call before stopping buy to confirm availability and that the Notary is present and available at that specific time.
Why should I have a Will?
A Will ensures your estate is distributed according to your wishes, appoints someone you trust as executor, and can name guardians for minor children. Without a valid Will, BC’s Wills, Estates and Succession Act (WESA) determines how your assets are divided — which may not always reflect your preferences. We make the process simple, clear, and affordable.
Can a Notary Public give legal advice?
Yes, Notaries Public in British Columbia are legal professionals authorized to provide advice within their areas of practice, including real estate, contracts, and estate planning. If your matter involves a dispute or court proceeding, we’ll refer you to a lawyer who can assist with litigation or any other matter outside the scope of practice for BC notaries.
Can you notarize documents for use outside Canada?
Yes. We regularly prepare and notarize documents for international use, including travel consent letters, powers of attorney, and certified true copies. Depending on the destination country, your document may also require authentication or legalization through the Office of the Lieutenant Governor (OIC) in British Columbia, Global Affairs Canada, or a foreign consulate or embassy. Our notary’s signature is registered with the OIC office in British Columbia, allowing you to submit your document to the province for authentication after notarization. Please confirm the specific requirements with your consulate and the BC Authentication Program website to ensure your documents are properly recognized abroad.
How much do notary services cost?
Fees depend on the type of service and complexity of the documents. Simple notarizations are generally charged per signature or document, while real estate and estate planning matters are quoted as package rates. We’re always transparent about costs before proceeding.
Can you notarize documents in another language?
If a Notary Public cannot read or understand the language of a document, they generally cannot notarize it. However, there are certain exceptions — for example, life certificate forms or documents that include a complete English translation attached. In most cases, if the notary does not understand the language, the document must first be translated by a certified translator, or by the client with an affidavit or statutory declaration of translation attached, before it can be notarized.
